Sharing House and SparkPoint are joining forces to host two vital community events designed to foster emotional well-being and community connection in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. As part of Sharing House’s Empowerment Program and SparkPoint’s mission, these events will offer spaces for healing dialogue and building resilience.
The organizations will co-host a Community Dinner on Friday, November 1, 2024, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Mary C. Jenkins Community Center. This free event will feature a shared meal, offering an opportunity for neighbors to gather and strengthen community bonds. The dinner will promote conversations around resilience and recovery and provide a supportive environment for all who have been affected by the hurricane.
"After the devastation of Helene, we are focused not only on physical recovery but also on nurturing the mental well-being of our community," said Sarah Hankey, Executive Director of SparkPoint. "This dinner is an opportunity for us to come together, listen to each other’s stories, and honor the strength we hold as individuals and collectively."
