Volunteers from Pisgah Forest Rotary Club, WSQL Radio, and Sharing House, will once again roll up their sleeves to “Pack the Pantry” with food and household supplies. This bi-annual Food Drive displays the best of community, where everyone comes together to make sure no one goes hungry. As the cost of food is rising, and schools are closing for the summer months, the need for food in low-income households is greater than ever.
Saturday, May 20 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., there will be volunteers stationed at the front doors of local grocery stores to receive your canned food and dry goods donations. They will have the “most needed” shopping list to make purchasing items easier. Hard working Rotarians will be at the Courthouse Gazebo to take donations of all kinds, including your money! The goal this year is to raise 5,000 pounds of food and $5,000 which will help stock the Sharing House pantry, ready for summer demanding months. Mark your calendars!
